The workers in private households will receive in June the first installment of the Annual Complementary Salary (SAC), commonly known as the Christmas bonus. The payment applies to both monthly staff and those who work hourly or daily, as long as the employment relationship is registered.
With the latest salary updates in the sector, the amount of the bonus for domestic workers has also changed. Additionally, the regulations set specific dates for payment and provide proportional cases for those who started working a few months ago.

When is the Christmas bonus for domestic workers paid in June 2026
According to current legislation for the private household work regime, the first installment of the bonus must be paid by June 30, 2026.
However, the regulations allow for an additional period of up to four business days. Therefore, employers can make the payment until July 6, 2026 without formally being in violation.
Labor specialists recommend making the payment within the original deadline and ensuring the amount is correctly itemized on the official pay slip.

How to calculate the Christmas bonus for domestic workers
The calculation of the SAC is done by taking 50% of the highest monthly salary received between January and June 2026.
This means that salary increases granted during May and June directly impact the final amount that each worker will receive.

The formula for calculating the proportional bonus
In cases where the worker has not been employed for the entire semester, the bonus is calculated proportionally. The formula is: SAC = (Highest salary / 12) × Months worked
The calculation includes not only the basic salary but also additional remunerative components such as:
Seniority.
Geographical disadvantage bonus.
Other common salary concepts.
