The Government reduced the tax from 15% to 8% for tourist services during the Labor Day holiday, which will last for four days
The Government of Ecuador, through an executive decree signed by President Daniel Noboa, ordered the reduction of Value Added Tax (VAT) from 15% to 8% for tourist services during the May 1 holiday.
The measure applies exclusively to activities contemplated in the Tourism Act, such as accommodation, food in restaurants and cafeterias, tourist transport, travel agencies and event organization.
The Labor Day holiday will run for four days, starting on Thursday, April 30 and ending on Sunday
, May 3.The Internal Revenue Service (SRI) must implement the necessary provisions to ensure the application of the tax benefit in authorized sectors during the holiday period.
