Ecuador participated in Operation Southern Seas 2026 together with the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, one of the largest military vessels in the world, which carried out maneuvers in national waters together with naval units Ecuadorian women

During the operation, an Ecuadorian delegation visited the USS Nimitz to learn about its operation, observe the takeoff and landing of aircraft, and exchange experiences with the American crew.

The maneuvers also included the participation of Ecuadorian corvettes BAE Loja and BAE Manabí, who carried out joint exercises with U.S. units. Department of State, strengthening coordination and response to maritime threats

The presence of the USS Nimitz in Ecuador became one of the most important events of Operation Southern Seas 2026, evidencing the high level of cooperation between the two countries and the strengthening of the country's naval capabilities.
