The president of Ecuador announced changes to the cabinet, curfew in nine provinces and relief in electricity sheets due to the solar storm

The President of the Republic, Daniel Noboa, announced a series of measures that include changes to the ministerial cabinet, new security provisions and relief in electricity sheets for areas affected by a solar storm.
In the political sphere, the president confirmed changes in the ministries of Health and Environment and Energy. As he indicated, the new authorities will aim to “accelerate what works and correct what doesn't”, in order to strengthen government management.
In Health, Jaime Bernabé Erazo was appointed as the new head of office, while in the Environment and Energy portfolio, the appointment will be made official on April 30, during a process of administrative transition.

In terms of security, Noboa imposed a curfew between 23:00 and 05:00 in nine provinces and four cantons of the country, as part of a plan for territorial control that will apply during the month of May

The provinces included are Guayas, Manabí, Santa Elena, Los Ríos, El Oro, Pichincha, Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas and Sucumbíos. The cantons La Maná, Las Naves, Echeandía and La Troncal are also added

Finally, the president announced a relief in electricity sheets for homes affected by the solar storm, with a benefit of up to 190 kWh per home, representing economic savings for families and a state investment in energy subsidies.
