President Daniel Noboa announced a strategic alliance with the American businessman and former military officer Erik Prince, aiming to strengthen the country's security against narco-terrorism. This measure is part of the internal armed conflict Ecuador has been facing since January 2024.
During the meeting, Noboa highlighted that organized crime has attempted to instill fear and act with impunity. However, the president was emphatic in stating that "their time is up," reaffirming his commitment not to yield or retreat in the fight against criminal organizations.
The collaboration with Prince, founder of the renowned security company Blackwater, also includes the protection of Ecuador's fishing resources against the threat of illegal fishing.
