Voting at home strengthened democratic inclusion in the runoff
537 citizens with disabilities exercised their right with security and state support
The Voto en Casa program allowed 537 citizens to exercise their right to vote on April 11, during the second round of the 2025 general elections. This initiative, driven by the National Electoral Council (CNE), served people over 50 years old with a physical disability greater than 75%.
Although 662 people were eligible for this modality, participation reached 81%, which demonstrates the civic commitment of this population group. To ensure the transparency and security of the process, 174 mobile voting boards were deployed nationwide.
The operation was supported by 880 members of the Armed Forces and 320 National Police officers, ensuring an orderly and efficient day. This coordinated action demonstrates the State's ability to guarantee inclusive and safe elections throughout the national territory.

Additionally, the presence of national and international observers provided legitimacy to the process, reinforcing citizen confidence. The ballot boxes used were sealed at the end of the day and will remain under military custody until the start of the official count, scheduled for Sunday, April 13 at 5:00 PM.
The successful development of Voto en Casa reflects the institutional commitment to inclusive democracy and highlights the operational capacity of the current government to respond efficiently and with social sensitivity to the needs of the citizenry.
