President Noboa proposed reforming the Constitution to transform Ecuador.

The leader reaffirmed his proposal to refound the country with justice, security, and employment

In a massive event in Guayaquil, President Daniel Noboa reiterated his commitment to a profound constitutional reform if he is reelected this April 13. Accompanied by supporters at the River Oeste coliseum, he highlighted the need to "refound Ecuador" to restore justice, generate employment, and connect the country with the world.

"We are going to reform the Constitution, we are going to refound an Ecuador that needs change," expressed the president during his speech. Noboa stated that his political project focuses on a structural transformation of the State, with an emphasis on combating organized crime and generating opportunities for young people.

The focus on security has been a key axis of his first term, after taking office in November 2023, amid a crisis aggravated by prison riots and the rise of drug trafficking. According to the president, Ecuador can't continue to be a country where "criminals dictate the future", but one where "we lock them up and give opportunities to young people."

Although the details of the proposal have not yet been revealed, analysts consider that a potential reform could redefine the role of the Armed Forces, modify the balance of powers, and expand the powers of the Executive. These changes, experts emphasize, would require legislative approval or a popular consultation to be realized.

Noboa has consolidated an image of young and technocratic leadership, focused on practical solutions to the country's challenges. During the campaign, he has reinforced his narrative of state modernization, proposing a new social contract that prioritizes justice, security, and economic growth.

With the runoff on April 13 in sight, Daniel Noboa's constitutional reform proposal positions itself as a central axis of his campaign. His proposal offers a clear alternative for those seeking a safer, more modern country with greater international projection.
