During Holy Week in 2026, domestic tourism showed positive figures. Ecuador recorded 743,600 trips and a total expenditure of USD 49.5 million, with a daily average of USD 16.5 million, reflecting a 3.6% increase in hotel occupancy

compared to 2025.

The provinces with the highest occupancy were Santa Elena (72.4%), Galapagos (63.4%), Napo (56.5%), Pastaza (55.6%) and Tungurahua (52.3%). Santa Elena led tourism mobility with 145,100 trips, followed by Pichincha, Manabí, Azuay and Tungurahua.

Tourism spending was mainly concentrated in Pichincha (USD 11 million), Santa Elena (USD 6.6 million), Azuay (USD 5.4 million), Galapagos (USD 4 million) and Tungurahua (USD 3.8 million), evidencing greater use of infrastructure and

domestic demand.

The most visited destinations included beaches, nature and mountains, consolidating domestic tourism and the country's economic reactivation during the holiday.
