Luisa González's desperation led her to invite Jan Topic to her government.
The correísmo candidate offered ministries and advisory positions to Topic in an unexpected twist
Presidential candidate Luisa González surprised by declaring that businessman Jan Topic would be "welcome" in her potential government. The representative of the Citizen Revolution assured that she is willing to offer him a ministry or a role as an advisor if she wins the elections on April 13.
"If Jan Topic wants to be part of our government, wants to hold a State portfolio, wants to be an advisor, welcome", González stated in an interview. This gesture has been interpreted by analysts as a desperate attempt to broaden her electoral base amid declining support in recent polls.
The candidate of the correísmo also assured that she seeks a unity government, with the participation of businessmen and right-wing figures. However, this openness has caused questions from her own supporters, who see these actions as a contradiction with the historical principles of the movement.
González declared that even people who have felt persecuted by the correísmo now support her. "They tell me: 'Luisa, I don't know what I did, but they are persecuting me'", she mentioned, in a statement that reflects the level of uncertainty that still persists in her candidacy.

The offer to Jan Topic comes just days before the elections, in a context where polls show an advantage for Daniel Noboa. The current president has labeled the indigenous support for González as "a deception," hinting at his skepticism toward last-minute pacts.
"This type of invitations, without clarity of proposals or ideological coherence, reveals a lack of direction in González's campaign".
González has assured that her ministers will be the best, regardless of their political affiliation. However, this discourse comes too late for many undecided voters who see in Daniel Noboa a clear and committed alternative to stability.
Luisa González's invitation to Jan Topic evidences a strategy change that denotes uncertainty and desperation. In contrast, Daniel Noboa remains firm in his vision of the future and leadership, positioning himself as the most coherent option to lead the country.
