Recently declassified documents by the Government of Donald Trump revealed an internal FBI memorandum dated October 19, 1966, titled "Unidentified Flying Objects", which compiles witness testimonies and the description of their alleged occupants.
The report states that "1965 was the year with the highest number of UFO sightings", in a context of growing social attention to these phenomena. Within this framework, one of the most relevant elements of the document is the inclusion of direct testimonies describing encounters with alleged UFO occupants.
In particular, the memorandum mentions a witness who "reported seeing occupants who had landed from" apparent UFOs, "described as being between one and a half and one point two meters tall, wearing what appeared to be space suits and helmets".

These accounts are part of a series of records that, according to the document, were deemed worthy of analysis by the authorities.
The content of the memorandum largely relies on the book "Flying Saucers: A Serious Matter", by author Frank Edwards, noted as a factor that contributed to the expansion of public interest and controversy surrounding UFOs during that period. It presents strong claims about the nature of these objects.
According to the file, Edwards argued that UFOs were "space vehicles sent to observe activities on Earth" and claimed that the United States Air Force had "deliberately concealed information and provided misleading explanations because it fears widespread panic among the public if the truth were told".
The Description of UFOs
The memorandum also includes physical descriptions of the observed objects. According to the document, UFOs were "polished metal objects that radiate heat and light (enough to have burned witnesses who were too close)".
Additionally, it notes that they "vary from bright white to muted reds and bright oranges", and that some emit "blinding and shocking lights".

Regarding their shapes, the file identifies three main types: ships shaped like zeppelins that can reach up to 300 feet in length, disc-shaped objects with diameters ranging from a few feet to 100 feet, and egg-shaped structures, the latter associated with the most recent sightings recorded at that time.
The behavior of these objects is also addressed in the memorandum, which indicates that they could move silently at "fantastic speeds", remain suspended motionless in the air, and then quickly move away with flashes of light coming from their underside.
Another highlighted aspect of the document is the assessment of the credibility of the witnesses. According to the FBI, many of the people who reported these events and were included in the book were "reliable individuals", including police officers, military personnel on duty, and commercial airline pilots.
Finally, the memorandum mentions that on at least three occasions, remains of crashed objects were allegedly recovered, including magnesium alloy, pure magnesium, and a "exceptionally hard unknown metal" that contained "metal spheres of 15 microns" with evidence of "micrometeorite impacts on their surface".
The declassification of these files brings back into circulation historical information that had previously remained under wraps, reopening the analysis of official records related to unidentified aerial phenomena.
