Magnate Singham's network: NGOs and millions to spread Chinese propaganda in the US

A global network funded by Singham expands the CCP's influence in the US

Compartir:

An investigation exposed the scope of a global structure linked to magnate Neville Roy Singham and his wife Jodie Evans, which uses non-profit organizations to promote Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda in the United States and other countries.

The framework, according to the report, functions as a machinery of ideological influence that seeks to shape public opinion and weaken the position of the West in the face of the Chinese advance.

Millions of dollars and a network of nearly 2,000 organizations

During 2025, transfers of $591 million were detected through hundreds of financial transactions on five continents

.

Of that total, $278 million went to six key NGOs, including CodePink, co-founded by Evans.

Other organizations involved include:

  • BreakThrough BT Media

  • People's Forum

  • Justice and Education Fund

  • Tricontinental

The system distributes resources at multiple levels. This makes it difficult to trace the origin of the money and its final destination

.

A model designed to influence without leaving traces

The network operates through five financial “rings”. Each one disperses funds and messages in a decentralized way

.

This scheme replicates Cold War strategies. But adapted to the 21st century, with digital tools, academic events and coordinated campaigns

.

Security specialists define it as “cognitive warfare”. In other words, an offensive to influence perceptions, discourses and political decisions within open societies

.

The origin: a wedding and a global ideological agenda

The starting point was in 2017, during a wedding in Jamaica. There, Singham and Evans brought together activists and intellectuals aligned with

international Marxism.

At that meeting, strategies inspired by the doctrine of Mao Zedong, focused on social mobilization and indoctrination, were discussed.

Since then, the network has grown and expanded globally.

Universities, Protests and the Expansion of Anti-Western Discourse

The research identified more than 1,600 events organized by these structures, with the participation of at least 225

universities.

The scope includes:

  • Coordinated protests

  • Academic events

  • Production of ideological content

Many of these actions support authoritarian regimes such as

Cuba, Iran or Venezuela.

The key role of China and the anti-Western narrative

Although since Beijing they deny interference, the ideological content matches the narrative of the

Chinese Communist Party.

In one of his public interventions, Singham directly questioned the concept of Western democracy. He called it a “lie”.

He also vindicated the role of China and the Soviet Union in World War II, minimizing the contribution of the United States and its allies.

Opaque funding and global connections

Funding was channeled through structures such as the GS Donor Advised Fund, linked to Goldman

Sachs.

This type of instrument allows you to make donations anonymously, which facilitates the opacity of the system.

The fund was closed in 2024, after increasing scrutiny over these operations.

Warnings about a growing ideological threat

Experts warn about the impact of this network. They describe it as a strategy to infiltrate discourses within Western democracies

.

Xi Van Fleet, survivor of the Chinese Cultural Revolution, warned that these actions seek to transfer Maoist logic to the present.

According to his vision, this is an ideological offensive aimed at weakening the United States from

within.

A battle that is no longer just military

The case reveals a paradigm shift. Global competition is no longer limited to the economic or military level.

Today it is also being waged in the cultural, academic and media fields.

And on that front, the use of NGOs as vehicles of influence becomes a key tool for authoritarian regimes.
