President Donald Trump reported this Saturday that an agreement between the United States and Iran is expected to be signed on Sunday to end the war and begin a 60-day negotiation period regarding the regime's nuclear program. The pact permanently blocks Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and immediately reopens the Strait of Hormuz to global maritime transport.
In his post on Truth Social, Trump contrasted his agreement with the pact made in 2015 by former President Barack Obama, which created a pathway for Iran to eventually acquire a nuclear weapon. "My Agreement with Iran is exactly the opposite, A WALL AGAINST THE NUCLEAR WEAPON!" Trump wrote.
Trump stated that Iran has accepted that it will not obtain a nuclear weapon "either through purchase, development, or any other form of acquisition." He also indicated in the same post that "the Agreement is expected to be signed tomorrow, and immediately after its signing, the Strait of Hormuz will be OPEN FOR ALL."
The president's comments came a day after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that negotiators had agreed on the final text of a peace framework and that an electronic signature could occur within 24 hours. Pakistan, along with Qatar, has played a key role in mediating the talks between Washington and Tehran.

No cash payments and the destruction of nuclear material
Meanwhile, Iranian officials insist that the release of the regime's frozen assets remains "an integral part" of any agreement. "We must be cautious when making any comments about the signing date due to the hesitations of the other party," said Esmaeil Baghaei, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic.
