Donald Trump to Hamas: 'Return the 20 hostages immediately!'
In a message posted on his social network Truth, the President of the United States reiterated that he will not accept partial releases
United States President Donald Trump urged Hamas on Wednesday to immediately release the 20 hostages who are presumed to still be alive in the Gaza Strip.
In a post on his Truth Social network, Trump wrote: "Not 2 nor 5 nor 7! If Hamas does this, things will change quickly. IT WILL BE OVER!"
The president thus insisted on the position put forward by Israel: there will only be negotiations that involve the release of all those kidnapped by Hamas.

It is true that there are still another 28 hostages who are estimated to have been killed, but it is clear that Trump focused on the request for those believed to still be alive.
In this regard, the Families Forum asked the president "to make every possible effort to ensure that the 48 hostages are returned to Israel".
Trump had already stated in August that "probably" fewer than 20 hostages remained alive in Gaza, which was interpreted as a tacit acceptance of the losses.
The debate over the hostages' future intersects with military strategy. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conveyed to the security cabinet that the United States also opposes any partial agreement with Hamas.
He quoted Trump's direct words: "Forget about partial agreements. Go in with full force. Finish the job."
According to Netanyahu, a partial ceasefire would undermine the mission to destroy Hamas and dilute Israel's international legitimacy at this stage of the conflict.
