Netanyahu after the attack in Jerusalem: 'We are at war on several fronts.'

Palestinian terrorists opened fire on civilians and left at least 6 dead and dozens injured

Hours after the terrorist attack at the Ramot intersection in Jerusalem, which left six dead and dozens injured, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the scene and warned that Israel is facing a "fierce war on multiple fronts".

The attack, carried out by two Palestinian terrorists who opened fire on bus passengers and passersby, once again brought the threat of terrorism in the capital to the forefront.

Netanyahu expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and assured that the security forces have begun the pursuit of the accomplices and the siege of the villages from which the strikers came.

Numerous emergency vehicles and police personnel are gathered on a blocked avenue while several people watch the scene and some officers direct traffic and manage the situation.

"These murders don't weaken us; on the contrary, they strengthen our determination to complete the missions in Gaza, in Judea and Samaria, on all fronts," he declared. The prime minister also highlighted the role of an ultra-Orthodox soldier from the Hashmonaim Brigade, who killed one of the terrorists and prevented an even greater massacre.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir accompanied Netanyahu and took the opportunity to criticize a recent Supreme Court decision, which had ordered the Prison Service to improve the food for security prisoners.

According to Ben-Gvir, "rulings like this send the wrong message to the terrorists" and reduce the deterrent effect of the prisons.

President Isaac Herzog also reacted, calling the attack a "painful and difficult morning" and emphasizing that it was "cold-blooded murders against innocent civilians". Herzog highlighted the "acts of heroism" that prevented more deaths and warned that the world must understand that Israel is facing "absolute evil" that will never succeed in defeating it.

From Budapest, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated that the attack demonstrates the danger of imposing on Israel "a terrorist Palestinian state in the heart of our land". In the same vein, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich declared from India that "the Palestinian Authority must disappear from the map" and that the towns from which the strikers came should receive severe punishment, comparing them to the cities of Rafah and Beit Hanoun in Gaza.

Leaders from across the political spectrum, from Avigdor Liberman to Benny Gantz, agreed on the need to respond with strength and determination.

Meanwhile, Israeli society is trying to absorb another blow in its capital, remembering that the fight against terrorism remains an open and prolonged front.
