The attack unfolded when two terrorists arrived at the junction in a vehicle, rammed into civilians nearby, and then exited the car to attempt to stab other people in the area.

The injured were immediately evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Hadassah-University Medical Center in Ein Karem for treatment. MDA paramedic Uriel Lavi described the incident as "serious and complex", noting the need to stabilize victims with penetrating wounds at the scene before transport.
The swift intervention of Israeli reservists who happened to be in the area was crucial in preventing a larger massacre. The reservists managed to neutralize the two terrorists, an act of initiative and bravery that has been praised by authorities. Akiva Speigelman, Gush Etzion's spokesperson, emphasized that the terrorists were neutralized "quickly thanks to the initiative of those at the station".
Israeli security forces replied immediately to the attack, cordoning off the area and establishing checkpoints and roadblocks. Authorities suspect that the strikers were residents of Hebron and Beit Ummar. These measures are part of ongoing efforts to prevent future incidents and ensure the safety of the population.
This event highlights the dedication and sacrifice of security personnel and ordinary citizens, such as the reservists, in protecting Israeli civilians against terrorism.
