Anas Al-Sharif was involved in planning and facilitating rocket attacks against Israel

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the death of Anas Al-Sharif, a member of Hamas since 2013 and correspondent for the Qatari network Al Jazeera in the Gaza Strip.

According to military information, Al-Sharif was involved in planning and facilitating rocket attacks against Israel.

In the same operation, carried out near Shifa Hospital, five other people were killed, including another reporter, Mohammed Qreiqeh, and three cameramen identified as Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, and Moamen Aliwa, according to Al Jazeera.

The IDF stated that measures were taken before the attack to avoid civilian casualties, using precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence.

As part of the evidence, the army released documents that would include payrolls, lists of terrorist training courses, telephone directories, and personnel records that would link Al-Sharif to Hamas.

Minutes before being hit, Al-Sharif posted on X/Twitter that "the bombings had continued for the past two hours" and left a scheduled posthumous message in which he said: "I never hesitated to convey the truth as it is, without distortion or misrepresentation, hoping that God will bear witness to those who remained silent."

Al Jazeera and press organizations, following Hamas's propaganda manual, condemned the attack

The IDF did not disclose exact details about the location of the attack, but maintained that the evidence presented demonstrates "the integration of a Hamas terrorist member into the Qatari network Al Jazeera."
