La Derecha Diario Gustavo Macalpin organizes a massive barbecue as a protest against Marina del Pilar
The event organized by the journalist will also seek to break a Guinness record this Saturday starting at 5:00 pm
Thousands of citizens are preparing to fire up the grills in an unprecedented protest against Governor Marina del Pilar and her husband, Carlos Torres. Under the slogan "We are the opposition", the event organized by journalist and influencer Gustavo Macalpin will take place this Saturday, May 17 at 5:00 p.m. in the Plaza de los Tres Poderes.
The demonstration, in the form of a massive barbecue, has already gathered more than 54,000 interested on social media. At least 20,000 people have confirmed their attendance through platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp.
A direct call to the citizens
The call is clear: "Bring your grill, your meat, and a lot of attitude". According to Macalpin, the goal is to highlight the citizens' frustration with a Morena government that has been complicit in corruption, insecurity, and institutional collapse in Baja California.

Besides the political message, the event will aim to break a Guinness Record as the largest barbecue protest in history. The Guinness agency has already been contacted, and Macalpin promises a "surprise" for attendees.
The reasons behind the protest
The citizens' mobilization was triggered after the revelation that the governor and her husband lost their U.S. visas, supposedly for "administrative" reasons. However, media have pointed out that the accusations are much more serious.
Carlos Torres is linked to money laundering and trafficking of stolen fuel, while the governor is accused of collusion with organized crime.
Meanwhile, the state government remains silent. No official has issued a statement about the protest that will take place right under the governor's office balcony.

The protest has become a symbol of the growing social discontent with the Morena administration. Instead of addressing the complaints, the government downplays the controversy, while the perception of impunity increases.

This Saturday, the grill will be the banner of an opposition that doesn't need parties to raise its voice.
