The far-left Frente Amplio member Charles Carrera was indicted for corruption

Frente Amplio is more than a political force; it is an associationtocommit crimes, where its main leaders gain access to government and from there plunder public coffers.

Charles Carrera Leal, former senator of Frente Amplio, from the MPP list 609, was indicted on June 11, 2025, for extremely serious crimes of corruption committed in 2012 as Director General of the Ministry of the Interior.

Indicted for serious crimes

The charges include fraud, ideological falsification of a public document (as an indirect participant), and abuse of privileged information.

These are related to an incident in La Paloma, Rocha, where Víctor Hernández was left paraplegic by a stray bullet, allegedly linked to a police event.

Carrera authorized his treatment at the Police Hospital, despite being a civilian, and granted enormous economic privileges, including monthly payments.

The audios

Audio recordings from 2013, broadcast on the television program Santo y Seña, suggest that Carrera asked Hernández's family to keep the arrangement secret, which led to accusations of cover-up.

ProsecutorSandraFleitas keeps that Frente Amplio member Carrera used public funds in an absolutely irregular manner, with an estimated cost of 260,350dollars, and committed abuse of authority.

The legal defense, led by attorneys Juan González and Lucía Fernández Ramírez, was a true disaster.

They tried to justify the unjustifiable, arguing in favor of Carrera when the evidence of corruption against him was overwhelming.

They claimed that the accusations lack solid evidence, that the Police Hospital allows civilian admissions in special cases, and that there are no falsified documents directly linked to Carrera.

All of this is absolutely false and doesn't match the evidence presented to the Prosecutor's Office.

Conduct of a typical socialist

The conduct of Frente Amplio member Charles Carrera is typical of a left-wing political leader.

Using the State's resources, which are supposed to belong to all inhabitants of the Republic, for personal benefit.

Plundering state agencies for personal gain and for friends, generating million-dollarlosses that, of course, are paid by taxpayers with their taxes.

In a country that has thousands of shortcomings of all kinds, Frente Amplio member Carrera squanderedmillions in a completely irregular manner.

Finally, it seems that after many years, justice is beginning to be served.

The real victims of Charles Carrera are all Uruguayans who sacrifice every day to pay their taxes.
