This Friday, the Argentine president, Javier Milei met with the elected president of Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, in the city of Cali, where the Colombian leader showered praises on the Argentine and highlighted his regional leadership.
The meeting, which was shared by the Office of the President of Argentina through a video, was marked by a tone of political closeness and a series of acknowledgments from De la Espriella to Milei.
During the exchange, both leaders engaged in a relaxed dialogue that reflected ideological affinity. “Long live freedom, damn it!”, exclaimed De la Espriella, to which Milei responded: “Go Tiger!”. In that same spirit, the Colombian president-elect added: “The Tiger and the Lion are here!”, referring to the nicknames of both leaders.
However, the central moment of the meeting was marked by De la Espriella's statements, who emphasized Milei's role as a political reference at the regional and global level.
“What an honor, president. I want to tell you that you have been a source of inspiration for this entire battle,” he expressed. In that vein, he elaborated: “We have the strength to fight for freedom and democracy.”
The Colombian president-elect reiterated his recognition with new definitions about the figure of the Argentine head of state: “Dear president, I want to tell you that you have been a beacon for us, and that you have been an inspiration for us.”
