According to the IFFHS, Lionel Messi is the best player of all time.
The prestigious ranking highlighted his career, his achievements, and his legacy, considering him superior to other historical figures like Pelé, Maradona, and Cristiano Ronaldo
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) released its ranking of the 10 most outstanding footballers of all time, and placed Lionel Messi in the first position. The Rosario star, crowned world champion in Qatar 2022 and awarded the Ballon d'Or seven times, was chosen as the best in football history.

With this new tribute, Messi is once again recognized for his exceptional career, his influence on the field, and the achievements obtained both in his clubs and with the Argentine National Team.
The ranking brings together legends who left their mark in different eras of world football, but the top belongs to Messi, who continues to make history on and off the field. Additionally, within the list, there are also two other icons of Argentine football: Diego Armando Maradona, in the third position, and Alfredo Di Stéfano, who appears in the ninth position.

Racing, the best team in Argentina
Despite the surprising elimination against Platense in the Torneo Apertura, Racing under Gustavo Costas established itself as one of the most outstanding teams on the continent. The conquest of the 2024 Copa Sudamericana, the achievement of the 2025 Recopa, and resounding victories like the one against Colo-Colo were sufficient reasons for the IFFHS to choose it as the best Argentine team at the moment.

According to the global ranking prepared by this organization, the Academia is in the 32nd position worldwide. Real Madrid leads the classification, followed by Barcelona and Inter. Meanwhile, in the national landscape, River appears as the second-best positioned behind Racing (45th position), while Boca is in the 68th position. Further down are Lanús (74th), Vélez (103rd), and Huracán (105th).
If the analysis is expanded to the South American level, there are six Brazilian clubs ahead of the Avellaneda team. Botafogo (13th), champion of the last Copa Libertadores, leads that list. They are followed by Flamengo (14th), Atlético Mineiro (22nd), São Paulo (24th), Palmeiras (26th), and Corinthians (27th).
