Daniel Ketchibachian confirmed a significant investment that will consolidate Córdoba as the country's second air hub
The CEO of Aeropuertos Argentina, Daniel Ketchibachian, announced a large-scale expansion at the Córdoba airport.
The project aims to support the increase in international flights and the growing demand from passengers. Córdoba has once again surpassed one million annual travelers and reaffirmed its position as the second most important airport in Argentina.
Ketchibachian remarcó que Córdoba comparte similitudes arquitectónicas con aeropuertos como el de Natal, en Brasil.
Investment in infrastructure and local employment
The expansion is part of a national modernization strategy driven by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000.
The project will include new terminals, boarding areas, and operational improvements on the runway and in services. The initiative will generate direct and indirect employment in the construction and logistics sectors, focusing on suppliers from Córdoba.
La expansión responde al crecimiento sostenido del turismo receptivo y del transporte corporativo.
Córdoba, a regional model of efficiency and design
The new expansion project will combine noble materials and sustainable criteria, replicating Ezeiza's successful model.
Ketchibachian emphasized that Córdoba shares architectural similarities with airports such as Natal in Brazil. "We want each terminal to be a source of local pride, but also efficient and modern," he stated.
The expansion responds to the sustained growth of inbound tourism and corporate transportation. The company plans to improve the airport's boarding capacity, parking, and commercial areas. Ketchibachian explained that the works are being planned with a ten-year projection, anticipating future passenger demand.
Córdoba volvió a superar el millón de viajeros anuales y reafirmó su lugar como el segundo aeropuerto más importante de Argentina.
The value of the private sector in Argentine infrastructure
Ketchibachian also highlighted the role of private capital in the country's airport expansion. "Infrastructure must anticipate demand and not depend on political timing," the CEO stated. His approach aligns with the vision of a more competitive Argentina, open to the world, based on efficiency and productive investment.
The planned project reinforces Córdoba's strategic position as a logistics and tourism hub in the Argentine interior.
Its location and air connectivity make it a key point for regional development. The commitment to more infrastructure and quality service strengthens the private sector's confidence in the country's future.
“La infraestructura debe anticiparse a la demanda y no depender de tiempos políticos”, sostuvo el CEO.
