After leaving Boca, Fernando Gago received his first call to return to coaching
After closing his brief stint with Xeneize, the coach began to analyze offers, one of which came from Mexican soccer
Although Fernando Gago left his position as coach of Boca on April 29, two days after the defeat in the Superclásico against River at the Monumental, he only formalized the termination of his contract with the club last week. In this scenario, Pintita has already started to analyze new job opportunities and it seems he has already received a proposal.
The offer for the former Xeneize coach comes from Mexican soccer, a league he left under controversial circumstances after his departure from Chivas de Guadalajara to take over at the Ribera club while he was still competing.
The club that contacted him to express its interest was Necaxa, a team whose main figures are José Paradela and Agustín Palavecino.

According to the outlet "Super Deportivo," the Mexican team could lose its coach, Nicolás Larcamón, due to a possible move to Cruz Azul, so it is considering different candidates to replace him, including the Argentine coach.

Regarding its performance, the Aguascalientes team recently had an outstanding campaign, finishing in fifth place and being eliminated in the quarterfinals by Tigres, who advanced on away goals after a 2-2 aggregate draw.
Gago's background in Mexico
At the beginning of 2024, Gago took over as coach of Chivas de Guadalajara, a club where he had an inconsistent spell both in terms of play and results. In 38 matches in charge of the team, he recorded 17 wins, 9 draws, and 12 losses. However, the episode that caused the most impact was his abrupt departure in October, when he activated the release clause to leave for Boca.
The decision caused discontent among Rebaño fans, especially because for weeks the coach publicly denied any contact with the Xeneize management, something that was ultimately proven to be untrue.
