The former president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, was discharged this Sunday after being hospitalized for three weeks at the private DF Star clinic in Brasília.
The right-wing leader, 70 years old, was admitted on April 12 and operated on the 13th for a severe intestinal obstruction, a complication stemming from the stabbing he suffered during a campaign event in 2018.
This was the seventh surgery related to that attack, and according to his doctors, the most complex to date, lasting approximately 12 hours. The intervention served to unblock the bowels and reconstruct the abdominal wall.
After spending 17 days in the intensive care unit, Bolsonaro was transferred to the hospitalization area last Wednesday. His progress was favorable: he stopped experiencing pain and fever, his blood pressure remained stable, and the doctors suspended his intravenous feeding thanks to the good tolerance to a soft diet orally.

On Sunday, upon leaving the hospital, he did so walking on his own, smiling and greeting a group of supporters who awaited him with cheers and shouts of "myth!", the nickname with which his followers revere him.
Through his social media, Bolsonaro thanked the doctors and expressed his gratitude to God for what he considered a "miracle," assuring he felt "renewed" and ready to return home. He also anticipated that his "next challenge" will be to participate in a political rally scheduled for next Wednesday in Brasília.
