The former Kirchnerist president Alberto Fernández cast his vote today in Puerto Madero amid a tense atmosphere. He arrived at the polling center, the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), in Puerto Madero, surrounded by his security detail, quickly got out of the vehicle, and entered the building without stopping and in a hurried manner, avoiding any contact with the media.
The former president displayed a serious and hurried expression. As soon as he entered, he went directly to his assigned table. Upon leaving, he did not want to speak with the press either and only managed to utter a brief phrase: "I came to defend democracy, that's all."
Immediately afterward, Fernández left the place quickly, without answering questions or offering additional statements about his presence. As he left, he struck the door of the UCA building in Puerto Madero with his fist.
