ANSES Benefits: The government announced discounts for retirees at supermarkets
The program will begin to take effect in September and covers more than seven million beneficiaries
The Government of Javier Milei, through the Ministry of Human Capital, led by Sandra Pettovello, announced the launch of ANSES Benefits, a program that will begin in September and is aimed at more than seven million retirees and pensioners across the country.
The initiative seeks to improve the purchasing power of this segment of the population through discounts and cashbacks at major supermarket chains and participating stores.
According to the ministry, beneficiaries will be able to access a 10% discount with no cashback limit on general supermarket purchases, and in some establishments, an additional 20% discount will be offered on personal care and cleaning products. To access these promotions, retirees and pensioners will only need to make the payment with the debit card through which they receive their benefits.

The program covers more than 7,000 stores nationwide, including national chains such as Carrefour, Chango Más, Coto, Josimar, La Anónima, Disco, Jumbo, and Vea. The Ministry emphasized that the measure will not only have a positive impact on retirees' finances, but will also have a stimulating effect on commerce by encouraging supermarket consumption at no cost to the State.
This proposal is complemented by a special agreement with Banco de la Nación Argentina (BNA), which provides additional benefits to retirees and pensioners who receive their payments at that institution. In these cases, users will be able to obtain an extra 5% cashback on their purchases made with debit or credit card through the BNA+ MODO app, with a monthly cap of $20,000.

As a complement, Banco Nación will deposit daily to beneficiaries a remuneration percentage equivalent to 32% APR on the balances they maintain in their accounts, up to a maximum of $500,000. This incentive seeks to reward saving and ensure a higher return on available funds.
The Ministry of Human Capital highlighted that the measure constitutes a "virtuous circle" that benefits retirees, strengthens consumption, and is implemented without additional fiscal cost to the State, since it is based on voluntary agreements with the private sector and the Government.
