Bad news for River: Salas's injury has been confirmed and how long he will be out
River's forward was injured against San Lorenzo and will miss several matches, including the first leg of the Libertadores round of 16
River suffered a significant loss in its squad in yesterday's match against San Lorenzo. Maximiliano Salas, who left the field injured in the 17th minute of the first half, underwent medical tests that confirmed a major sprain of the lateral ligament in his left knee.
The 27-year-old forward will have to undergo 21 days of recovery, so he won't be available for at least the next four official matches for Millonario.

The first match he will miss will be this Saturday against San Martín de Tucumán, for the round of 32 of the Copa Argentina in Santiago del Estero. After that, he also won't be available for the match against Independiente in Avellaneda for the Torneo Clausura.
Additionally, Salas will be out for a key match: the first leg of the Copa Libertadores round of 16 against Libertad of Paraguay, scheduled for Thursday, August 14 in Asunción.
Finally, he will miss the match against Godoy Cruz at the Más Monumental, and he could only return in the second leg against the Paraguayan team if he responds well to recovery.
A return that strengthens the attack
Despite this significant loss, the good news for the coaching staff, led by Marcelo Gallardo, is that Sebastián Driussi is in the final stage of his recovery after suffering an ankle sprain and could reappear against the Tucumán team, taking the place left vacant by the former Racing forward.

In this context, and depending on his physical condition, he could be ahead of Miguel Ángel Borja in Muñeco's considerations and be in the starting line-up.
