The negotiation that Boca believed was on track for Marino Hinestroza took an unexpected turn in recent hours. After months of back and forth and when the outcome seemed close, Atlético Nacional's winger might not arrive in Argentina and could continue his career in Brazil, enticed by an offer from Vasco da Gama.
Xeneize had submitted an offer of 5 million dollars for 80% of the player's transfer rights, leaving 20% of any future capital gain in favor of the Colombian club. However, although the agreement was advanced, Hinestroza didn't travel to Buenos Aires as planned and the deal entered a phase of complete uncertainty.

In that context, Vasco da Gama emerged. The Rio de Janeiro club, managed by Fernando Diniz, submitted an offer of 6 million dollars for the 23-year-old forward's registration. This amount exceeds the one offered by Boca and adds a key point: assuming all taxes derived from the transfer, a detail that ultimately convinced Verdolaga.
