Xeneize will play against Millonarios and Nacional ahead of the debut in the 2026 Apertura Tournament
Boca began to shape its preseason and, just a few days before the start of training in Ezeiza, it has already defined its friendly matches prior to the Apertura Tournament. Claudio Úbeda's team will have two international tests against historically significant opponents: Millonarios from Colombia and Nacional from Uruguay.
The first match will be on Wednesday, January 14 at La Bombonera, against the Colombian side, which will also face River on Sunday the 11th. For that match, the club announced that 50% of the general admission stand will be available for affiliated members, a measure that expands access to the stadium for those who do not usually have tickets for official matches. The last time they faced each other was in a friendly in 2012 in Bogotá, a match that Boca won 2-1.

The second appearance will take place on Sunday, January 18 at the Estadio San Nicolás de los Arroyos, where Boca will face the Uruguayan team. The venue is already familiar to the club from La Ribera, which played a friendly there against Juventude last summer. The most recent precedent between the two teams dates back to the round of 16 of the 2023 Copa Libertadores, a series that Xeneize won on penalties after a 2-2 aggregate draw.

Although the kick-off times have not yet been confirmed, it is estimated that both matches will be played in the evening, due to the high temperatures. In the coming days, the club will provide details about the ticket sales system and prices through its official channels.
The friendlies will be key for a squad that, for now, has not added reinforcements. The board is holding negotiations for Marino Hinestroza and Alexis Cuello, although both operations present obstacles that have not yet been solved. Meanwhile, Boca aims to arrive in the best possible shape for its debut in the Apertura Tournament, scheduled for the last weekend of January against Deportivo Riestra at La Bombonera.
