Cleaning of names at Boca: Which players wouldn't go to the Club World Cup?

After being eliminated by Independiente in the quarterfinals of the Apertura Tournament last week, and with no participation in international tournaments, Boca is going through a period without official competition.

With the round of 32 match in the Copa Argentina postponed, Xeneize's next major commitment will be its debut in the Club World Cup, on Monday, June 16 against Benfica, in Group C, which also includes Bayern Munich and Auckland City.

After a week of rest following the defeat against Rojo at the Bombonera, the squad will resume training this Tuesday at the Ezeiza complex, awaiting the arrival of Miguel Ángel Russo, who must terminate his contract with San Lorenzo.

Meanwhile, the team is scheduled to travel to the United States on Monday, June 9 to compete in the international tournament. Although participating in it represents great pride for the institution, not all players will be part of the delegation traveling to North America.

Among them are prominent names: Sergio Romero, Cristian Lema, Frank Fabra, Ignacio Miramón, Agustín Martegani, and Lucas Janson.

In these cases, the decision is mainly due to football or physical reasons, but there could be one more absence: Ayrton Costa. The former Independiente player, despite having been a starter with good performances, was denied a visa to enter the United States due to two criminal records. Although the matter has already been solved in court, he is still unable to obtain the necessary permit to enter the country.
