Bomb threat at Córdoba Cathedral triggered an evacuation and a large-scale operation

A phone call received this Monday at the Central Police Station caused alarm by warning about the presence of an alleged explosive device. The notice indicated that the device was located on the ground floor of the Cathedral of Córdoba, which required a rapid activation of security protocols. The situation led to the immediate evacuation of those inside the temple and the perimeter closure of Plaza San Martín.

Members of the Explosives Brigade, DUAR agents, and the Córdoba Police worked together with dogs trained to detect hazardous materials. The inspection required several hours of searching and the presence of the provincial Security Minister, Juan Pablo Quinteros, who supervised the actions. Once the tasks were completed, the authorities confirmed that no suspicious items were found inside the Cathedral.
