Bombshell: Cristiano Ronaldo could play the Club World Cup with a Brazilian team
CR7 could leave Al-Nassr next transfer market and rumors are already circulating linking him with South American soccer
Cristiano Ronaldo isn't having a good time at Al-Nassr. The Saudi team was recently eliminated from the Asian Champions League, failed to qualify for the next edition, is in fourth place in the local league, and after the 1-1 draw against Al Taawon last Friday, the 40-year-old Portuguese forward left the stadium without going through the locker room, which sparked a real scandal.
Although his arrival caused a huge impact on the region's football, the sporting goals were not achieved, and the outlook for the next season is far from encouraging, which opens the door to a possible change of destination.
In this context, with just two matches remaining in the Saudi league, Al-Nassr no longer has options to become champion or to access the next Asian Champions League. Therefore, the match on May 26 could be Cristiano Ronaldo's last performance this season.

The contractual link between Cristiano and Al-Nassr extends until June 30, 2025, but with this outlook, it could be interrupted earlier. According to Spain's Marca newspaper, a major Brazilian club is interested in signing him with a view to the Club World Cup. Although that media did not reveal the name of the institution, CNN claimed it is Botafogo, the current Copa Libertadores champion.
According to rumors, Fogao, whose owner is the American businessman John Textor, would be willing to make a million-dollar investment to sign the Portuguese star.

Beyond the strictly sporting aspect, Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival would represent a huge impact in marketing terms, especially considering his potential participation in the Club World Cup, a tournament in which Lionel Messi will also compete with Inter Miami. It is worth remembering that the Rio de Janeiro club shares Group B with Paris Saint Germain, Atlético de Madrid, and Seattle Sounders.

If his arrival is confirmed, the Brazilian club would become the sixth club in the career of the former captain of the Portuguese national team. Cristiano started his career at Sporting Lisbon, then excelled at Manchester United, and reached his peak at Real Madrid. After leaving the white club, he played at Juventus and later returned to the Red Devils in a second cycle without much brilliance. Later, in 2023, he joined Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, where he currently plays.
