Taylor Sheridan, known for being the creator of "Yellowstone", has been confirmed as screenwriter and producer of the film adaptation of "Call of Duty". According to Deadline, the project will also feature direction by Peter Berg, recognized for films such as "Lone Survivor" and "Deepwater Horizon".
The film, which had already been in development by Paramount Pictures, promises to bring the universe of Activision Blizzard's most successful video game to the big screen. Although it doesn't yet have a confirmed title or release date, the production company aims to make it one of its major bets for the coming years.

A duo with experience in action and military drama
Sheridan and Berg have already worked together on productions such as "Hell or High Water" and "Wind River", and are joining forces again to shape this new blockbuster. Deadline notes that Paramount specifically chose this duo for their experience in the military genre and narrative realism.
Their works fit the tone of the franchise. Sheridan was responsible for "Special Ops: Lioness". Berg directed "Patriots Day" and "Lone Survivor", stories that blend patriotism, political tension and human drama.
An ambitious production under the Skydance banner
The film will be produced by Skydance Media, the studio behind hits such as "Top Gun: Maverick", "Mission: Impossible" and "Jack Reacher". Its CEO, David Ellison, stated that the team will approach this project with the same commitment as their previous high-level productions.
