Rumors of a possible fourth cycle for Carlos Bianchi at Boca are growing.
The Virrey is among the considerations of the Xeneize management to fill the position left by Gago
The management led by Juan Román Riquelme decided to end Fernando Gago's contract as Boca Juniors coach. Meanwhile, Mariano Herrón will take interim control of the team to face the remainder of the Torneo Apertura.
The president is already considering possible replacements, and one of the surprising names was Carlos Bianchi, whom they will try to convince to return to activity after 11 years away from the benches.

Meanwhile, other options such as Gabriel Milito, Kily González, and Gustavo Quinteros are also being considered, the Virrey is an alternative being considered by the Football Council in the search for the new coach to fill Pintita's vacant position.
During one of the Football Council meetings, one of the members proposed the name of the most successful coach in the club's history. So far, there has been no formal contact with him, and it remains to be seen if he is interested in returning, although Riquelme will try to convince him.

Bianchi's last cycle at Boca
If his return were to materialize, it would be his fourth cycle at the helm of the Xeneize. The last one, between 2013 and 2014, had a very different outcome from his glory days. During that period, he returned in place of Julio César Falcioni but did not achieve the expected results. The defeat against Estudiantes in August 2014 was the final straw, when then-president Daniel Angelici decided on his departure.
During that third stint as coach, Bianchi accumulated 26 victories, 21 draws, and 25 defeats. Sharing the team with Riquelme, Boca finished second to last in the Torneo Final 2013, was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores by Newell's, and achieved a runner-up position in 2014 behind River led by Ramón Díaz, although without really challenging for the top spot.

The Virrey's titles with the Xeneize
In his legendary tenure with the blue and gold club, Bianchi won nine titles in total:
- 3 Libertadores (2000, 2001, and 2003)
- 2 Intercontinentals (2000 and 2003)
- 4 Local Tournaments (Apertura 98, 2000, and 2003, and Clausura 2000)
