Carlos Palacios and his assessment at Boca: pressure, goals, and a very rushed adaptation

The Chilean reviewed his first months at Xeneize, appreciated his adaptation, and spoke about the demands of the club, the fans, and the criticism regarding his life off the field

Carlos Palacios reviewed his first six months as a player for  Boca, after arriving in December 2023 and making his debut in January 2024. At a time when several names in the squad are under scrutiny, the Chilean forward highlighted his current form and how he managed to adapt to the club.

"Boca fans are very passionate, very euphoric. Besides the fact that they've won everything, they're used to winning, for them it's normal," Palacios said in a conversation with media from his former club, Colo-Colo. "You always have to win and they've gotten used to that," he added.

Regarding the pressure that comes with wearing the blue and gold jersey, he admitted: "You feel a pressure that can sometimes change everything for you. It's normal, sometimes they expect you to play well in every match."

Palacios also reflected on the media impact surrounding the club: "Everything is Boca. The controversy is Boca. The happiness is Boca. The sadness is Boca. It seems like the other teams don't matter."

Later on, he referred to his performance and adaptation: "I've been able to score goals, contribute to the team, play a lot. I thought it would be harder for me at first, that it would be more difficult because it's the biggest team, the one everyone talks about. But, in that sense, it's been super easy for me."

He also expressed satisfaction with his personal moment: "I'm at a point in my career that's really good. I feel like I've done things well. Obviously, one can give more, be better. But I feel like I'm on the right track and that makes me happy."

Asked about the criticism he received on social media for his nights out, he replied naturally: "I feel like there's nothing wrong with it. Going out somewhere, spending time with your friends, wanting to have some fun for a while, isn't going to make you a different person."

Finally, he concluded without giving too much importance to outside opinions: "I don't even look at what people say or think about me, everyone knows what they can do."
