Infantino praised Boca and River for their performances in the Club World Cup
Despite their early elimination, the FIFA president thanked both Argentine clubs for their presence and highlighted the passion of their fans
While the Round of 16 of the Club World Cup is being played, Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, took the opportunity to acknowledge the participation of the Argentine representatives in the tournament.
Through posts on his social media, Infantino thanked Boca and River for their presence in the competition. First, he praised Xeneize for its performance and for the passion of its fans: "A very competitive campaign in the FIFA Club World Cup with fans who captivated the world. There is much to be proud of. See you soon!", wrote the Swiss official.

In the series of photos he shared, he is seen with Juan Román Riquelme holding a Boca jersey, as well as other images with fans of the club. It is worth noting that Infantino attended all three matches played by the team led by Miguel Ángel Russo: he was in Miami for the games against Benfica and Bayern Munich, then traveled to Nashville for the match against Auckland City.

Meanwhile, regarding River, Infantino also had words of recognition: "The great performance in such a competitive group is a source of pride for its passionate fans! We look forward to having you back on this stage!", he said about the team led by Marcelo Gallardo, which came just short of reaching the Round of 16.
Among the images he chose for his post, several photos of the Millonario supporters stood out, who traveled in large numbers both to Seattle, where River faced Urawa Red Diamonds and Inter, and to Los Angeles, the venue for the match against Rayados de Monterrey.

How much River and Boca earned and what's next for them
Despite playing only three matches, the Argentine teams pocketed about 15.21 million dollars just for participating. In addition to that amount, River earned an extra 3 million as a result of its victory over the Japanese team and the draw against the Mexicans, while Boca secured an additional 2 million thanks to its draws against the Portuguese and New Zealand teams.
With their sights set on the second half of the year, both teams have busy schedules. For Millonario, it will play the Clausura Tournament, the Copa Argentina (vs. San Martín de Tucumán), and the Copa Libertadores (vs. Libertad). Meanwhile, Xeneize will have only the Clausura and Copa Argentina (vs. Atlético Tucumán).
