The labor action launched by the aviation unions in line with the CGT general strike affected at least 64,000 passengers across the country, on a day that left airports overwhelmed, flights canceled, and multimillion-dollar economic losses for the companies. The protest is part of the unions' rejection of the labor reform promoted by the national government.
The organizations that confirmed their participation were the Airline Pilots Association (APLA), the Argentine Association of Aircrew (AAA), the Aeronautical Personnel Association (APA), and UPSA. The business sector warned that the strike is causing "multimillion-dollar damage to national economic activity," especially in the middle of the peak season.
More than 400 flights canceled and millions in losses
According to the Chamber of Airline Companies in Argentina (Jurca), the strike will cause the cancellation of more than 400 flights. The impossibility of rescheduling all operations is due to the high level of demand typical of the summer and to the operational limitations of air transport.
The most affected company is Aerolíneas Argentinas, which had to cancel 255 flights and left 31,000 passengers unable to travel. The economic impact amounts to approximately 3 million dollars. The company confirmed that it will apply salary deductions to those who join the strike.

In the case of JetSmart, 96 flights were suspended, affecting 17,000 passengers. The company allowed changes without penalty until March 2026.
