Chiqui Mafia: Attending a national team match is up to five times more expensive than in Brazil

Ancelotti's debut match on Brazilian soil, which could include Canarinha's qualification for the World Cup, is much cheaper than the Argentina-Colombia match

This week marks the start of the penultimate window of the South American Qualifiers on the road to the 2026 World Cup. Although the Argentina National Team has already secured its place in the next World Cup, the rest of the teams are still fighting to qualify. Brazil, meanwhile, is confident it can secure its ticket in this double matchday.

With Carlo Ancelotti at the helm of Canarinha and after announcing his first squad list, with the notable absence of Neymar, the Brazilian national team will face Ecuador as visitors this Thursday and will host Paraguay on Tuesday, June 10, in São Paulo, at Corinthians' stadium.

Expectations among fans are high, since this is not only Ancelotti's home debut, but also a potential qualification day for Brazil. In this context, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has made official the ticket prices for the match against Paraguay at the Neo Química Arena.

Prices range from 35 dollars for the North Sector, up to 80 dollars for the most expensive seats in the West stand, which includes the corner, side, and central areas. Thus, ticket prices for the match between Brazil and Paraguay are significantly more affordable than those set by the AFA for the clash between Argentina and Colombia.

That match, which will also be played on June 10 at the Más Monumental Stadium, features starting prices of 90,000 pesos (198 pounds) (equivalent to about 75 dollars at the official exchange rate) for the general admission, while the San Martín and Belgrano middle sections reach 480,000 pesos (1,058 pounds), that is, about 400 dollars.

In other words, the cheapest tickets to see Brazil cost almost half as much as in Argentina, and the most expensive ones up to five times less. Thanks to Chiqui Tapia's AFA, the price to watch the National Team is exorbitantly higher than in the rest of the region and in other parts of the world.
