The president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia, referred to the future of Lionel Scaloni and left a message about the continuity of the coach at the helm of the Argentine National Team. The official stated that his absolute priority is to keep the current coaching staff and assured that he does not consider any other name to replace him.
Tapia wants Scaloni to continue
Tapia highlighted the bond he has with the world champion coach and recalled the difficult moments he faced since his arrival at the national team. "I care a lot about Gringo. He went through tough times here," expressed the AFA president.
Additionally, he explained that he maintains constant contact with Scaloni and expressed optimism regarding the negotiations to extend his tenure. "We have a back-and-forth relationship. Each of us has our own timing to process our grief. We all want him to stay. There were very advanced conversations," he noted.
