Panic attack, pneumonia, and arrhythmia
According to his account, the combination of stress, a possible prior viral condition, and a panic attack led to a severe arrhythmia. "I went down very fast and that triggered a very high arrhythmia," he explained.
The doctors also detected a case of pneumonia. His heart decompensated and he had to be assisted with a ventilator, in a process that he himself described as "a wonderful job by the doctors."
When he woke up in the hospital, he realized how serious it had been. "They told me: you almost died. I felt a very strong desire to live," he recalled.
