This September, Córdoba province is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Hiking Month, a tourism initiative that has already become a tradition for locals and visitors. The initiative was born in 2014 and has become one of the most popular products for enjoying nature, physical activity, and the cultural heritage of Córdoba.
The kickoff will take place in Nono, considered the "kilometer zero" of provincial hiking, where the first organized walk that gave rise to this project was held. The official launch of the activity schedule will take place there, and the history of a practice that, over time, has become a symbol of alternative tourism will be reviewed.
The touristic and cultural value of hiking
The president of the Córdoba Tourism Agency, Darío Capitani, emphasized that hiking is now a key product for the province because it combines landscapes, identity, and healthy living. In this regard, he highlighted the progress made over these 10 years: safe and well-marked trails, proper infrastructure, and joint work among municipalities, communes, the private sector, and the province.

As part of the celebrations, the Agency will launch an audiovisual series on social media featuring stories, testimonials, and images of the most representative routes.
Hiking, an activity accessible to all ages, also holds strong cultural value: from Cura Brochero's journeys through the sierras to the first climbers who opened routes with craft-made resources. Today, these paths are part of Córdoba's touristic heritage.
More than 100 trails available throughout the province

Currently, Córdoba has more than 100 surveyed and marked trails in different valleys, and more than 200 authorized providers, which ensures guided and safe experiences. In addition, the Risk Zone Law reinforces safety on more demanding routes.
The goal of Hiking Month is to reaffirm these trails as public access spaces, ideal for family gatherings and contact with nature. Each route invites people to enjoy the outdoors and to recognize the trails as part of the province's natural and cultural heritage.
