Córdoba City Hall approved the proposals submitted by the providers Coniferal and SíBus to continue operating in the transportation system. The decision was formalized through the allocation of temporary contracts for a period of 12 months. The Secretary of Government, Rodrigo Fernández, confirmed that these definitions will fully enter into force as of next April 1.
Palacio 6 de Julio framed this process as a technical evaluation of the work plans to guarantee service stability. The contracts establish fleet investment targets that the companies must verify before the municipal authority. One of the central conditions sets a cap of 7 years of age for all units that circulate in the city.
This stage seeks to ensure operational continuity without introducing drastic changes in the route layout during the second quarter. The municipal administration prioritized operators that already maintain high-demand routes and that demonstrated maintenance capacity. The technical objective is to reduce mechanical failures and improve the regularity of current frequencies.

Technical details of the accepted offers
Coniferal will maintain its usual scheme in corridors 1, 4, and 6, and will also add the operation of lines C1 and C2. The company, with more than 50 years in the sector, has already incorporated 150 new buses since 2024 to comply with the requirements. For Monday, March 2, the firm has scheduled the deployment of a batch of 23 additional buses.
Meanwhile, SíBus will continue providing service in corridors 3 and 8, incorporating extensions A1 and B1. This company operates with a fleet of 220 low-age units, according to data validated by the municipal audit. The provider also proved investments in its own infrastructure, including a large-scale operational base in the southern part of the capital.
The incorporation of the new lines seeks to solve the overlapping of routes in critical areas where the state-owned Tamse previously operated. The municipality valued the fact that these extensions will fall under the scope of operators with logistical structure and their own workshops. This technical reconfiguration aims to simplify system management and improve response times in the face of contingencies.

30-day period for the corridors under evaluation
After confirming these two groups, the municipal Executive announced that it has one month to define the rest of the lines. During this period, the proposals for corridors 2, 5, and 7, which are currently operated by Grupo FAM, will be analyzed. The system will maintain its usual operation during the transition in order to avoid any type of interruption for the user.
There are offers from new actors interested in entering the system, such as the companies Movix and the company from San Luis province SolBus MR SRL. SolBus submitted a plan for corridor 7 that includes the provision of 70 buses with a maximum age of 2 years. Movix, linked to interurban transportation, seeks to operate corridor 5 with the incorporation of 50 new units.
The municipal evaluation will focus on the actual availability of buses and on the solvency to sustain fleet maintenance. Compliance with the age limit will be the determining factor for the award of the contracts in the remaining corridors. The final scheme is expected to be fully operational before the expiration of the deadline set by the Executive.
