Córdoba: new human remains found and authorities are analyzing whether they belong to Brenda Torres
The discovery was made in the Chateau Carreras neighborhood. The prosecutor's office is investigating a possible connection with Brenda Torres or whether it is another criminal incident
Fifteen days after the initial discovery, Córdoba is once again shaken by the appearance of human remains in the Chateau Carreras neighborhood. The incident was reported this Sunday by members of the Cordobeses en Alerta program, who found two bags in a garbage dump. Police are investigating whether they belong to Brenda Torres, a 24-year-old woman.
The discovery took place at Deán Funes and Calandria streets, 750 meters (2,460 feet) from the house where the victim is believed to have been murdered. That property, at Horneros 574, is known as the "Casa Quemada" due to its abandoned state. Homicide and Judicial Police officers are working at the scene.
The District 4 Prosecutor's Office, Second Shift, led by Horacio Vázquez, is involved in clarifying the facts. The procedure includes forensic examinations and evidence collection. Efforts are focused on confirming the identity of the remains and their possible connection to the previous crime.

The investigation advances with key forensic tests
The prosecutor's office ordered new forensic tests to determine the exact cause and date of death. Investigators are also analyzing call records and social media activity to trace the victim's final hours.
The family expressed doubts about the measures and insisted on speeding up the process. "We want to know the truth and for there to be justice," they stated in a brief statement.

The Brenda Torres case
Brenda Torres was last seen in July, and her body was found dismembered in different parts of the neighborhood. First, arms were found in a bag on Ramón Cárcano Avenue. Days later, workers found lower limbs near that location.
On August 5, at the "Casa Quemada," police seized a bag containing a torso and a head that could belong to Brenda. These remains are undergoing genetic analysis. The progress led to the arrest of two men, allegedly linked to the young woman on the night of the crime.
The prosecutor's office reclassified the case as "femicide" after confirming the context of the criminal act. The Public Prosecutor's Office based the measure on evidence and the victim's vulnerability. Both detainees are reportedly known in the neighborhood and employees of a security company.
