Córdoba: an olive oil from Traslasierra was chosen as the best in Argentina

The distinction was awarded at Caminos y Sabores, the country's most important gastronomic fair

The extra virgin olive oil "Chacras de Luyaba," produced in the Traslasierra valley, Córdoba, was recognized as the best in the country. The recognition took place during the national Caminos y Sabores fair, held at La Rural in Palermo. The 2025 edition did not present awards, so the Córdoba product keeps first place.

The Caminos y Sabores fair –BNA edition– was held from July 3 to 6 in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. It is the country's most prominent gastronomic event, with a strong presence of producers from Argentina's interior. Regional foods and beverages that promote tourism and local production are showcased there.

The Córdoba olive oil competed in the "Experiencias del Sabor" contest, evaluated by a jury of gastronomy specialists. The balance between aroma, flavor, texture, and production processes is valued. The award-winning product stood out among dozens of brands from across the country.

Córdoba stands out in national gastronomy with quality regional products

Chacras de Luyaba is a family business located in the town of Luyaba, in the western part of the province. The company is committed to craft-made production, without chemicals and with manual harvesting. This approach has allowed them to stand out in international rankings and national fairs.

In previous editions, Córdoba also received distinctions for other typical products. A salami from the province and a confectioner's dulce de leche were chosen as the best in the country. These recognitions consolidate Córdoba as an emerging hub for gourmet foods.

The fair's organizers highlighted the importance of giving visibility to producers from the interior. Caminos y Sabores is promoted as "El Gran Mercado Argentino" for its regional diversity. Córdoba's participation was one of the most celebrated by the attending public.

A competition that highlights the efforts of small producers

The "Experiencias del Sabor" contest recognizes the best Argentine products in nine categories. It is not only about flavor, but also cultural identity, production process, and final presentation. The Córdoba olive oil stood out for its fruity aroma, smoothness, and persistence on the palate.

In the 2025 edition, no awards were given, so the 2024 winning oil keeps its leadership until the next contest. The absence of new awards reinforces the relevance of previous winners. The Córdoba company celebrated the achievement as a source of pride for the entire region.

Chacras de Luyaba's success adds to a trend of valuing regional products. Córdoba has managed to position itself without relying on subsidies or state bureaucratic structures. The quality and sustained work of its producers set the standard.
