The Córdoba Grain Exchange estimated a significant increase in the area planted with corn for the 2025-26 season in the province.
Just hours after the announcement by Javier Milei's government to remove export taxes on grains, the Córdoba entity reported 2.9 million hectares (7.17 million acres) planted, 15% more than the previous cycle.
Greater water availability and a lower risk from the stunting complex are influencing planting decisions, with a distribution that still favors late planting dates, but with slight increases in early planting.
