Ciudad Evita crime: the video shows the three girls getting into a van

The case that has shocked the country due to its brutality and scale has just added a key element to the investigation: a video captured by security cameras shows the exact moment when Brenda del Castillo (20), Morena Verdi (20), and Lara Morena Gutiérrez (15) voluntarily get into a white SUV in the Buenos Aires locality of La Tablada. Hours later, all three would be murdered and buried in a residence in Florencio Varela.

The Departmental Directorate of Investigations (DDI) of La Matanza and the Municipal Operations Center (COM) analyzed the audiovisual recording, which made it possible to reconstruct the vehicle's route and confirm that the young women were last seen on Friday at 9:29 p.m., at the intersection of Crovara and El Tiburón, when they boarded a white Chevrolet Tracker.

The footage that made it possible to reconstruct the crime

The video, captured by a surveillance camera near the roundabout in the La Tablada neighborhood, was decisive. In it, it can be seen how the three victims get into the vehicle of their own free will: the minor sat in the front passenger seat, while the other two young women took the rear seats.

According to sources in the investigation, the material not only confirms that initial contact, but also made it possible to track the entire route taken by the SUV through the video surveillance system until it reached the southern part of Greater Buenos Aires, specifically Florencio Varela.

Through the analysis of the cameras, the experts managed to identify the altered license plate of the vehicle, which had been reported as stolen. The information made it possible to determine that the driver diverted to a residence located at the intersection of Chañar and Jachal streets, where the triple femicide is believed to have been committed.

With the geolocation of the SUV as a key clue, the judiciary ordered a raid on the identified house, where the Buenos Aires Police found traces of blood and arrested two people who were at the scene. The investigation progressed during the early hours of Wednesday, with simultaneous operations in the Santa Rosa and Mayol neighborhoods, also in Florencio Varela.

Minutes before 8 a.m., officers found two bodies buried in one of the raided residences. Shortly afterward, another arrest was made and a third body was found in the same home.

The formal identification was carried out at the morgue by the victims' own relatives, who confirmed that the remains belonged to Brenda, Morena, and Lara. The first forensic examinations indicate that all three young women were murdered on the same Friday, shortly after their disappearance. One of the bodies showed signs of having been dismembered, while another had a bag placed over the head.
