UEJN accused the electoral judge of political proselytism in the courts. The crisis is worsening due to the promotion of relatives

Córdoba's Federal Justice system is experiencing an unprecedented institutional crisis due to the discretionary management of public resources. The UEJN judicial union has filed a criminal complaint against Judge Miguel Hugo Vaca Narvaja for alleged political proselytism within the jurisdiction. The accusation intensifies the tense atmosphere following revelations of nepotism that benefit the local elite with positions in the State.
The filing is signed by Julio Piumatto and accuses the magistrate of leading an internal Kirchnerist group. They state that the courthouse basement is used as a militant "bunker" and that rewards and punishments are applied to staff based on their loyalty. They warn of discrimination and harassment against those who do not align with the political faction allegedly led by the judge.
El gremio judicial UEJN denunció penalmente al juez Miguel Hugo Vaca Narvaja por presunto proselitismo político dentro del fuero.
Vaca Narvaja rejected the accusations, asserted that he is not involved in union disputes, and described the complaint as false and defamatory. He defended the work of contracted staff during the elections and maintained that his court keeps sensitive cases up to date. The National Electoral Chamber must decide whether to open an investigation into the partisan use of the judicial structure.
Vaca Narvaja rechazó las imputaciones, aseguró ser ajeno a las internas gremiales y calificó la denuncia de falsa e injuriante.
Favoritism and powerful surnames
The scandal takes on another dimension with the recent promotions of immediate family members of Córdoba's political and judicial figures. Carolina Aguad, wife of Congressman Rodrigo de Loredo, was promoted to secretary of the Federal Oral Court 2 in a controversial move. The official skipped steps in the hierarchy with only four years of seniority, which is unusual for the merit required for the position.
Another controversy surrounds the Federal Chamber, which regularized 22 employees in a resolution signed by Judge Abel Sánchez Torres. Although the magistrate formally recused himself for propriety, he signed the administrative act that includes the appointment of his own son. These endogamous practices contrast with the reality of the private sector and call into question the ethics of public service.
The union has warned about the existence of "meteoric careers" and rejected the so-called "pole-vaulting" in promotions. They demand that the hierarchy be respected to prevent positions from being assigned based on surname or political connections. The dispute exposes how politics and family ties colonize spaces that should be governed strictly by professional competence.
