Decathlon, the world's largest sports chain, continues its expansion in Argentina, confirming two new stores in Buenos Aires. They will open in Abasto Shopping and Alto Palermo, with investments of 5 and 4 million dollars, respectively, and generating more than 110 direct jobs. The company aims to bring its sports offering closer to thousands of families and young people in the Argentine capital.
The arrival in these shopping centers is part of its strategy to establish itself in locations with high visitor traffic and a strong commercial presence. Its first store in the country, located in Vicente López, will open at the end of 2025, consolidating the brand's entry into Argentina. The offering includes more than 65 sports disciplines available at each branch.
Meanwhile, Decathlon is already considering opening stores in Córdoba and Rosario, maintaining a low profile while searching for land and strategic commercial spaces. The company considers Córdoba a likely destination thanks to its market size and the presence of renowned shopping centers.

Why Córdoba is a key destination
Córdoba represents one of the most attractive markets for Decathlon, not only because of its population but also due to its purchasing power and sports tradition. The IRSA group, Decathlon's partner, owns Córdoba Shopping, which facilitates the chain's arrival in the country's interior.
Industry sources confirm that the company is analyzing strategic locations within the city, prioritizing areas with high family and youth traffic. Decathlon's arrival would generate direct jobs and boost local commerce, replicating the Buenos Aires model.
