The march against insecurity is taking place in San Justo, La Matanza, a district dominated by Fernando Espinoza
At this very moment, residents of San Justo are marching from Plaza San Nicolás toward the municipality of La Matanza to demand justice and security, in a forceful demonstration against the government of Axel Kicillof. La Derecha Diario is the only media outlet present at the scene, providing minute-by-minute coverage of this citizen mobilization that reflects the exhaustion of a community battered by violence.
Pedido de justicia en la Matanza
Justice for Gabriel: the crime that ignited the outrage
Justice for Gabriel is the rallying cry leading this mobilization. The brutal murder of Luis Gabriel Quintero, a 32-year-old man, was the event that exhausted the residents' patience. Quintero tried to prevent the theft of a motorcycle from a woman in the San Nicolás neighborhood and was gunned down by the criminals.
He died on the sidewalk, in front of a barbershop, while his friend Iván was also wounded. The scene was as shocking as it was symbolic: the crime occurred just two blocks from where, in January, a mother was murdered on a bus.
The incident caused a wave of outrage in the community, which quickly organized to demand justice. The Commission for the Support of Victims' Families (C.A.Fa.Vi.) was the group that promoted the call under the slogan "Mobilization for insecurity." The gathering was scheduled for this Friday, April 4 at 6:00 p.m., starting from the corner of Linch and Arturo Illia streets, heading toward the municipality.
Insecurity gives no respite in La Matanza
Insecurity gives no respite in La Matanza, and residents decided to take to the streets to make their demands heard. With Argentine flags, signs bearing the slogan "Justice for Gaby," and faces marked by sadness and anger, the community moves forward resolutely. They demand concrete answers, an effective security plan, and justice for the victims from Governor Axel Kicillof and Mayor Fernando Espinoza.
This peaceful march reflects the exhaustion after years of state neglect, political complicity, and impunity. "We can't keep living in fear. We can't allow more families to lose their loved ones to crime," the organizers stated.
La Derecha Diario remains at the scene as the only media outlet covering the events, showing what others choose to hide. We will continue reporting.
