Despite the rumors, Cavani's agent confirmed his continuity at Boca.

According to Walter Guglielmone, the Uruguayan forward would only leave Xeneize if Juan Román Riquelme personally asked him to do so

Boca resumes training this Tuesday, and Miguel Ángel Russo is expected to start making decisions regarding the squad's composition, including possible departures and the continuity of some important names.

Among the departures that seemed certain, doubts arose regarding Edinson Cavani, although his agent, Walter Guglielmone, dispelled rumors: "Cavani isn't going to leave Boca." However, he clarified that this would only change "if Riquelme asks him to do so," something that, for now, isn't in the Xeneize president's plans.

Guglielmone also denied an alleged offer from Peñarol: "It's not true that Peñarol's president called Cavani to play there." This way, the 38-year-old forward will fulfill his current contract until the end of the year, with an option to extend it until 2026, although that matter hasn't been confirmed.

Boca returns to training and rebuilds its squad

The squad will return to training at 3:00 p.m. at the Ezeiza Complex after the elimination in the  Club World Cup, with its sights set on the Clausura Tournament and the Copa Argentina.

While awaiting Leandro Paredes, who is training separately at the Lionel Andrés Messi facility and whose permanent transfer to Xeneize remains on standby, Russo will analyze the future of some players. The most sensitive case is that of Marcos Rojo, whose cycle would be over, although he still  hasn't terminated his contract and could show up today to train until his situation is solved.

In addition, some players who will no longer be considered by the coach could be assigned to train under Mariano Herrón's orders with the Reserve squad, among them Sergio Romero, Frank Fabra, Javier García, Cristian Lema, Ignacio Miramón, Esteban Rolón, and Marcelo Saracchi. Meanwhile, Exequiel Zeballos and  Luis Advíncula would be "negotiable" and will soon leave the club.
