The Round of 16 of the Club World Cup comes to a close with two high-profile matchups. Real Madrid will face Juventus, while Borussia Dortmund will take on Rayados de Monterrey.

The Madrid side regained form after their draw in the opening matchday against Al-Hilal and finished  first in Group H with 7 points thanks to victories over Pachuca (3-1) and Red Bull Salzburg (3-0). Meanwhile, Juvefinished second in Group G with 6 points after defeating  Al-Ain (5-0) and Wydad AC (4-1) and suffering a heavy 5-2 loss to Manchester City in the battle for the top spot.

In terms of head-to-head record,  in 24 matches Real Madrid leads with 12 wins, compared to Juventus's 10. The most recent meeting between the two was a 2023 friendly, where La Vecchia Signora prevailed 3-1, with goals from Moise Kean, Timothy Weah, and Dusan Vlahovic for the Italians and Vinícius Junior for the Spaniards.

Meanwhile, if we look at the most recent official encounter, we have to go back to the 2017/2018 Champions League quarterfinals. Back then, Juve would defeat Real 3-1, with two goals from Mandžukić and one from Matuidi for the Turin side, and Ronaldo for the Madrid side, but would be eliminated after losing the first leg 0-3, with a brace from Ronaldo and a goal from Marcelo.

On the other hand, Borussia arrives as the leader of Group F with 7 points, the result of 2 wins (Mamelodi Sundowns 4-3 and Ulsan Hyundai 1-0) and 1 draw (Fluminense 0-0), while Monterrey finished second in Group E with 5 points, thanks to 2 draws (Inter de Milán 1-1 and River 0-0) and a 4-0 rout against Urawa Red Diamonds.

This match will be the first between the two, both against each other and against teams from their respective countries.

Time and TV

The Merengue will seek a spot in the quarterfinals against Juve starting at 16:00 at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium. The match will be broadcast on DSportsTeleféDisney+ Premium  and DAZN, the latter completely free on its official website.

Meanwhile, the last match of the Club World Cup Round of 16 between Borussia and Monterrey will kick off at 22:00 at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The match will be broadcast exclusively on DSports  and DAZN.
